Comment on: WHO ~ KNEW?

Posted in W H O ~ K N E W on Jul 20, 2006... modified on Jan 22, 2007

Dear Who knew, I maybe posting this twice as I hit add comment after viewing your comment and now I am here, Sorry, if it ends up there twice. Anyway, yes patients can do this service their selves. I have been doing this for several years now and nine times out of ten they don't do it right or give up when they recieve a letter from the drug company stating your not eligible b/c of this or that. The reason I had to start charging a fee is because I couldn't afford the hundred dollars in postage everyday, the paper bill and phone myself anymore. I started this as a hobby helping but it grew to something bigger. I still do the service for free for people but can't do it all for free any longer. I also fill out all the paper work, send it to the MD. As you know if you are taking about just 5 meds all those forms are confusing. Then the MD signs, pt signs, we attach scripts and get it going. I am here to help people apply and make it easier. I also research everyday and have found lots of tricks to it to helping people get approved. As for my website the web designer is having to make some updates and yes it is registered in Utah b/c that is where the web designers are from.

Dear The Wizard, I hoping I am posting this to the at the correct place so others can see also. The basic eligibity requirements are that: 1. Paying for your medication causes a hardship on you/family to purchase them. 2. You must have no prescription drug coverage. 3. If you are on Medicare Part D you must have exhausted your benifits for the year. ( In the Donut Hole) 4.You can not be on state assistance such as medicaid for prescription help. 5. Keep in mind there are many exception we can make to these rules for example maybe yes you do get Medicaid (State Program) but it doesn't cover one of your medications. Well you can Apply for that one Medication and get help. That is the main things when applying for prescription help if any other questions I am happy to answer them here they do not have to call me if it is a simply question. As for the site yes it is registered in Provo Utah as that is where Heritage Web Solutions are and that is the group that does my website designing and things like that and they are having to do some updating. And my phone number is in Missouri b/c thats where I live :). I posted this on Aidpages for pts who couldn't afford the application fee's also. I will ask them more questions but if they can't afford they can't and I will be happy to help them. I just can't afford to do it free for everyone as the postage is killing me, paper bill and phone. Thanks for the questions and comments! Amy

Dear Who Knew and The Wizard, I was doing the service for free of charge for applicants and still do. The reason for the application fee is because I couldn't afford the Phone bill, postage and paper any longer. Yes most people can do this there self but most people don't know about it or they get confused about it. And yes the site is registered through Provo Utah because that is where the website design builders live. Missouri is where I live as I had to also pay to have the website built, can't really do that all on my own.
